These aren’t really cheats as anyone can do them and you won’t get in trouble.
SDCC doesn’t end when the exhibition floor closes.
Every night there are official and unofficial activities in and around the convention center.
For activities on site - The Eisner Awards and the Masquerade are the two most prominent. If the Star Wars Award are held at SDCC then they in the top 3. But don’t forget about the Finger Awards.
The anime room runs 24 hours a day.
Either in the convention center or in the neighboring hotels, fan favorite movies are being screening around the clock.
Movies previews are done throughout San Diego. Most of them are hard to get into because of the amount of fans showing up. Plan to leave early to get in those lines.
And speaking of movies, don’t forget to check the schedule for the IFF (independent Fi lm Festival). While this isn’t 24 hours a day, there are some great entries.
Parties and more parties are in the local hotels and elsewhere. Some are open to the fans. A lot are closed to the public. Various websites/blogs are devoted to helping you track down the parties so you can rub elbows with some Hollywood elite. Even check out the flyers being handed out near the trolley stop.
Before you know a day has past and you haven’t slept.
Pace yourself and enjoy,
Insomniacally yours,
AH
