Gina Gershon Texas Frightmare Weekend 2026

The other autograph I wanted from Texas Frightmare was GinaGershon. She has been in a lot of movies. She normally portrays a very sexy or sensual woman. And the photos I found for her represented that. I don’t have an issue with that but I was hoping for something a little tamer for my blog. Afterall, my Dad will occasional read this.

So, after searching, I found something I liked. I think it’s a nice compromise.

After completing my Warwick marathon, I found Gina. Just 2 people in front of me. I handed over the photo and she laughed. She said she remembered this.  I told her I actually watched the series and I liked it. It was silly but fun. She said it was only on for one season.

And like a fool, I corrected her. I said ‘Tripping the Rift’ was on for 3 seasons but she only was only on it for 1. I got a frown.  Oops. She recovered and found a dark blue pen that was better than the one I had and signed. Gina’s pen matched the hair tint on the animated character.

She mentioned she forgot the character name. I told her. She wrote the numeral. Then she realized it was written as text and not a number. She apologized. For me that was a bonus and I didn’t mind.

I left and it was now close to 10 PM. My Frightmare was over.  I was already thinking about the drive to Houston for Comicpalooza the next morning.

Warwick Davis Texas Frightmare Weekend 2026

This autograph I have wanted for a long time. Mostly because of scarcity…not because I’m a Willow fan. When Texas Frightmare announced WarwickDavis, I was excited.

Since I did not have a VIP ticket and I really wanted/needed to get this signature on Friday as I had other plans for the weekend, I got in line 6 hours before the doors opened. That is 6 hours in the hot Texas sun. If a buddy didn’t sit with me and share water and umbrella for shade, I would have died. Not literally died, but I would have been very sunburnt and extremely dehydrated.

After 6 hours of torment, I entered the air conditioned building and made my way to the Warrick line. Not too bad, about 150 people in front of me. Now we waited until he showed up. Which wasn’t too long after I sat in my little camping chair.  Warrick arrive riding a mini-Segway or maybe it was a hover board with a steering bar. He arrived in style.

I’m in line at 6 PM. He arrived about 6:15 PM.

About 7 PM he took a short break.

Then there were photo ops. A few more VIPS arrived and were placed in front of the general admission people like me.

At 9:30 PM, I’m about to enter the room where he was signing.  The aches and pains are dulled from the adrenaline rush of being so close. When I handed over my photo, he knew the exact color pen and where to sign. He added a quote and character name without being asked. Very cool.

Then I thanked him and left. It was 9:45 PM.

A very long day for an autograph.

Melissa Barrera Texas Frightmare Weekend 2025

Before going to a convention, I have gotten into a habit of looking for photos I would like to get signed.  I used to tried to pick out something from the table selection that I liked. Lately, I have been printing more and more on my own and bringing them.

I have to admit, sometimes the photo I printed is the same as the table option. Sometimes, I cropped it differently; which I like more. Sometimes, it’s just something that catches my eye. I’m looking for a good place for a signature.

I have gotten some very nice feedback from the celebrities, so I expect I’ll continue doing this. In the category of 'catching my eye' and and getting feedback, is the photo I got signed by Melissa Barrera.

With Frightmare being a horror convention, most people brought photos or posters from the movie, Abigail. A very good movie. And I was tempted myself. I just didn’t find anything I really liked.  However, I did find a beautiful photo with a golden sunset on an empty landscape. Her face was filled with a wistfully sad concerned look.  It spoke a lot in a single frame.  At the time, I had no idea what movie.

When I handed over the photo, I saw a few fleeting micro-expressions. She turned to look over the selection of photos on her table. It wasn’t there.  I mentioned I brought it.  I said, I just loved the photo and stated I didn’t even know where it came from. She said Carmen. And let it hang there.

Melissa gave me a very nice smile.  She talked about the film and the location and the director. Then she looked for a color to sign with. She chose the bronze.  I think it was a great choice with the landscape and the brightening sky.

Cole Sprouse Texas Frightmare Weekend 2025

I never watched Riverdale. I probably will one day. I’m just now watching Arrow and Flash. Yes, I’m that far behind on my TV watching. I’ll get to Riverdale…one day...maybe.

When I saw that Cole Sprouse was attending Texas Frightmare, I figured I might as well get him. I’m glad I did. As is the custom after a convention, I started a ‘show and tell’ with The Wife. She asked me to repeat the name. To her it sounded familiar.  I laughed. After giving me a stern look, she saw what she wanted.

Cole was little Ben in, Friends. Ben, who is Ross’ son. Of course, The Wife knew the name from Friends. The power of reruns and of a show that has been off the air for 20 years. Pretty impressive.

Barbara Crampton Texas Frightmare Weekend 2025

Yes, you know why I choose this photo. Regardless, BarbaraCrampton was sweet and had a long line. Lots of people were excited to get her signature added to their Re-Animator photos/posters/DVDs.

She chatted and posed with everyone. We actually chatted about my employer and what that was like in the new millennium. She used their product at one time and didn’t realize Mary Kay was still around. While trying not to slow the line too much, I recapped what I did and that the company was in nearly 40 countries. That seem to catch her interest which generated a few follow-up questions.

Jasmin Savoy Brown Texas Frightmare Weekend 2025

I have enjoyed the first 2 seasons of Yellowjackets. It’s hard/painful to watch but I enjoy it in small dosages.

Because of that, I HAD to get Jasmin Savoy Brown when she came to Frightmare. She was nice and chatted with everyone. She didn’t rush people. She checked if the table selfies looked good. It was very classy of her. I’m sure everyone enjoyed meeting her.

Devon Sawa Texas Frightmare Weekend 2025

I have to admit, I really didn’t know who Devon Sawa was. I did find a nice photo to print. So, I added him the list.

When I got to the table, the handler asked what movie/show my photo came from. She didn’t have anything similar on the table.  I had to admit, I didn’t remember. However, when I passed it over to Devon, he quickly said: Nikita.  Mystery solved.

We chatted a bit. I asked if Maggie Q was always that gorgeous. It was an odd question and he wasn’t sure where I was going.   I followed up with I saw her at SDCC and she was prettier in person than TV.  Then he smiled and said, yes, she is amazing.

Since there wasn’t a line, we chatted some more. He mentioned going to a Rangers Baseball game.  That dragged the fan next to me into the conversation. It was baseball talk for a good 10 minutes. He was a Bluejay fan. I’m a Phillies Phan and I still have nightmares from ’93. We ended up talking about other stadiums and team and the food offered.

A very nice outcome for a mystery photo.

Kevin Dillon laughed – Texas Frightmare Weekend 2025

Kevin Dillon was signing a lot of items from Platoon and The Blob. He was seated next to Shawnee Smith so he also took time to borrow her pen if she had signed the same photo or poster from The Blob. He wanted the colors to match.

I never watched Entourage but I thought this photo summed it up.  When I handed my item to Kevin, he smiled and then laughed and then stared. He signed and told me he liked that photo and bet he’d never sign another. That made me feel good.

Alisha Weir Texas Frightmare Weekend 2025

I enjoyed the movie, Abigail. It was different enough to keep my attention to the end. The cast was small but it was notable names. Frightmare brought in several actors from the movie. And that is why I have a photo signed by Alisha Weir.

She asked if she could add a quote. She added exactly what I would have asked.

Bruce Abbott Texas Frightmare Weekend 2025

I don’t know how many times I have skipped this autograph. Over the years, I have ignored Bruce Abbott. Nothing personal. Just a matter of time and priorities.

Bruce was very friendly, chatted, and asked questions. He had fun with some of the creative items people brought to get signed. Since his table was next to Jeffrey Combs, and both in the Re-Animator movie, if Jeffrey signed in a specific color, Bruce matched the color.  It’s a small detail but classy. I saw that a few times this weekend.

I originally thought a blood red paint pen would have been the best color to sign, but Bruce suggested this neon (Re-Animator) green color and it worked well.

Bruce commented on the photo. He said it wasn’t in the movie. It was actually a behind the scenes photo. At the time, he was exhausted. A long long day and they were filming in the dead of night. No one could remember their lines and you were trying not to fall down as you were doing the scene just one more time.

A nice detail from him.

Griffin Dunne Texas Frightmare Weekend 2025

Griffin Dunne signed a lot of Desperately Seeking Susan (because Patricia Arquette also attended this show) and An American Werewolf in London items.

Griffin signed in red, which would have been a great color if it was in the top right instead of the bottom right.

Rosanna Arquette Texas Frightmare Weekend 2025

I first saw Rosanna Arquette in the movie The Big Blue. It’s a slow movie about free divers.  They are divers don’t use air tanks. Of course, I wanted a photo from that but I couldn’t find anything. In fact, I could find anything I liked from my searches.

Rosanna had a nice section of table photos. She signed the one I liked best.  She was quiet and sweet. She listened to people. She had a circle lamp set up for table photos. She made sure people liked the results before letting them walk away.

Before I left, I did mention how much I enjoyed The Big Blue. She thanked me and apologized for not having anything from that movie. I told her I watched it dozens of times when it was on HBO. She again thanked me and I left.

Predator Texas Frightmare Weekend 2025

I attended Frightmare Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  Yes, I had also traveled to OKC on Saturday.  That is 2 conventions on 1 day. I said it before; my ‘graphing is an addiction. My name is AH and I collect autographs...

I have always enjoyed the Predator movie. Frightmare didn’t have just 1 actor but 2 alumni from the film.

The first was Richard Chaves. As we chatted, I mentioned a TV series: War of the Worlds. I enjoyed it. We set up the VCR to record it each week. He mentioned he was proud of that work and the character.

The next alumni was Bill Duke.  His character has a fairly iconic scene dry shaving with a razor and cutting himself. I searched for a good photo of that to get signed. No success. There was a table photo of Bill with the razor but it was a head shot and he would have been signing on his own face.

When I handed over my photo, the handler asked where I got that. I told him. He told me how much he liked it. When I moved to the lady next to Bill and she commented how much she liked that photo. Then Bill commented on how much he liked the photo.  Bill looked over to the handler. The handler looked back and agreed, it was a good photo and he would be tracking it down.

That is really nice feedback to get about the photos I printed.

Alyssa Sutherland Texas Frightmare Weekend 2025

I must admit, I did not know that Alyssa Sutherland was Australian. I just expected to hear Princess Aslaug when she said hello. Silly?  Yes, it was.

She is soft spoken. Chatted with everyone and took her time. She asked if I wanted a quote on the photo. I must admit, I think it’s better than anything I could have come up with. It fits the photo and the occasion.

Juliette Lewis Texas Frightmare Weekend 2024

The longest line all weekend was for Juliette Lewis. This marathon was on Saturday. In fact, it was the only autograph I got on Saturday. Between ‘line chaos’ for other actors in the morning and the ache in my back and knees afterward, I was only able to get this accomplished.  Yes, I’m getting old.

I got to the convention early. Only a 45-minute wait to enter the building. I had to stand in a short line to get a ’virtual’ ticket for Juliette. This meant they would call people by numbers. I just needed to wait until my number fell in the range called. Easy peasy. While waiting, I could stand in other lines and get more autographs.

Saturdays are usually very busy at conventions. Frightmare is no expectation. The lines for the other people I was interested capped and they were handing out virtual tickets. The only good thing was a virtual ticket didn’t cost any money. However, the process wasn’t fail-proof and those lines didn’t really move as planned. 

I finally got in Juliette’s line. I had to take the escalators to the 3^rd floor. It was only a three hour wait to get into the room where she was signing. She was entertaining. Chatting with people and laughing. She kept telling an older lady that paid for a ‘selfie’ to get her daughter to IG (Instagram) the photo and tag her. She knew mom had no clue. She said it about 10 times.  Pretty funny.

When I finally handed over my photo, I told her I enjoyed Yellowjackets. I mentioned, I thought it was a cross of the TV show, Lost and the book, Lord of the Flies. She agreed. I left with a smile on my face.  Sore back and knees all forgotten.

Then like magic, I left the room and the pain all came back.  I sat for a while and waited for the paint to dry.  Then wandered back to the other main convention floor. The actors that I still wanted had long lines and I figured I would rather come back on Sunday than spend more time standing on concrete.

Marley Shelton Texas Frightmare Weekend 2024

I wonder if more of you know Marley Shelton from The Sandlot or from Planet Terror?  Maybe the recent series 1923? I know her from Planet Terror. She was very friendly, laughed, and joked with the fans.
Yes, the signature is an 'M' or maybe a kid trying to draw a seagull, but my signature isn't very pretty either.

It is a nice addition to my collection.

Jane Levy Texas Frightmare Weekend 2024

This ended up being the last autograph from this convention.

As I got into Jane Levy’s line, I got a phone call from work. We had an issue. Ugh. Not a lot I could do from the convention. But I did have to track down a Developer to look into the issue. I was blessed and the Developer saw the same issue and was logging on as I was reaching out. As I got closer to the front of the line, I was responding to messages and emails from my phone. I checked a few things on the website from the Safari browser. It was slightly stressful.

Then it was my turn to get an autograph. I slid the phone into my back pocket, I paid, and slid my photo over to Jane Levy. She signed. I asked about The Toxic Avenger movie…and she said she had an uncredited role. We both did ‘frowny’ faces. I was distracted by work.

Then I left and worked on the issue from my car for the next 1 ½ hours. The car was much quieter than the convention center. There wasn’t much I could do other than ask a question or two and make sure different teams working on the issue were making progress.  Once the issue was resolved, I sent a few updates and returned to the convention. By then it was wrapping up. My Sunday and convention was over.

Eli Roth Texas Frightmare Weekend 2024

I must admit I got this autograph because my friends were excited about this name. I really don’t know much about him. Eli Roth was friendly. He didn’t rush as fans tried asking him ‘film 101’ questions. He was patient and seemed to be happy he was there.

I got the signature, and move on to the next line.

Kevin Durand Texas Frightmare Weekend 2024

I think everyone in line for Kevin Durand left with a smile on their face. He chatted, was animated with his responses, and asked a question or two back to everyone.

When I handed over the photo, I told him I was lucky enough to get a cast signing at SDCC from The Strain. Yes, I always bring up SDCC.  He was about to sign in silver but I asked for white and handed him my pen. He asked if was sure. I was.

After he signed, he looked at the results. He said it reminded him of the worms in The Strain. I told him that was what I had in mind.  Then he added he squiggle under his name. I think that was to represent a worm. 

Yes, I left with a big smile on my face.

Joe Dante Texas Frightmare Weekend 2024

After chatting with several fellow collectors (It’d been a while since I’ve seen them so we had to stop and say hello), I wandered over to Joe Dante’s Joe Dante’s table. I was surprised he didn’t have a long line. I quietly asked the cute young lady in front of me if I was in the correct line. She agreed I was in the correct line and the line was too short. As we chatted, I found out she was from a small town in Australia and came to Texas for this show. Wow. That’s a LONG flight.

Joe was friendly. He stood the whole time in front of the bar top table. it made it easier for selfies. And he was willing to chat with each fan.
