I like Phil Helmuth. He is maligned and hated and I will
admit irrating. However, I do think he is he an awesome player. I remember seeing a news item on him on Good
Morning America. It was just after he won his first WSoP (World Series of
Poker) event in 1989.
While I was hoping to catch him between sessions, he actually
had a signing scheduled when I went to Choctaw casino. He was friendly. When he saw my photo he
mentioned how much he liked it. He said
that was an important day for him. (He won his 13th WSoP ring). I chose the photo because it was visually interesting.
