The week after being in Jersey to visit my parents and attending Chiller Theater, I was back in Texas and attending Texas Frightmare
Weekend. This show is more Horror oriented
than Chiller. While it’s also in a hotel and you can buy and drink your beer as
you visit with the celebs, the celebs are in 2 locations and not spread out
over the hotel. Since the convention is
clustered between the 2 main rooms, it’s easier to find your friends and catch
up. I do spend more time socializing here than at other conventions.
While Frightmare had a nice line up of guests, many of the
guests I had already gotten or I wasn’t interested. This year, I got everyone I ‘needed’ Friday night
and I did not go back to the convention the rest of the weekend. That was different but good. It was nice to
rest and do something other than a convention.
Also this year, I did not have friends come from out of town
to stay with me and go to the show. While
it brings some chaos to have people stay with you, it’s good to catch up and spend
time together.
