I was looking forward to Rita Moreno coming to town for a
while. I got to the opera house way too early but I wanted to make sure I didn’t
miss her. A few of my fellow collectors joined
me and we kept each other company.
She looked down and told me she loved the photo from the Muppet
Show. While the show was filmed in color this black and while print caught my eye. Once she signed for me, I got out of line. I had
a second photo I brought but didn’t want to prevent anyone else from getting a chance. When she worked her way down to me again, I offered
the second photo. Then I thanked her again and she went inside.
About 10 minutes before her event was scheduled to start, her
SUV drove up. I saw her step out of the car and hand her purse over to a
handler. She walked over to us and said
hello. I asked if she had time and
offered her my sharpie.
