This would be the second time I’ve gotten Andy Weir’s
signature at SDCC. The first time was a year AFTER the movie, The Martian came
out. He was at SDCC the year BEFORE the movie too but he was not on my radar.
I wanted to get him to sign Artemis last year but the line
was way too long. This year I succeeded. He was friendly. He was at a table with several authors and he chatted
with the crowd as people waited for the next author. The conversation turned to
IPAs and alcohol content versus a quality taste. Being a nondrinker, it was a
conversation I’ve not heard before.
