After he signed, I mentioned how much The Wife and I really enjoy the movie 10 Things I Hate About You. He said it before I could: it’s a great date movie. When I mentioned I really liked his character as the teacher he gave me a huge smile. I guess people don’t talk about that movie enough.
Later, I got to listen to part of his panel. Funny and entertaining.
He shared an anecdote from Galaxy Quest about Tim Allen. He said if you wanted to
know where he was on set, just shout out: I am Spartacus. Then Tim would shout it back. After a few days,
the cast would shout it out too...all but Alan Rickman. This went out for a while
and it shut down the set. Then one day Alan
announced with bravo and authority that He was Spartacus. That ended it. No one
could say it any better and that ended the ritual.
