A fellow collector posted an address and link for Rebecca. I went to the link and it was to her
blog. I reviewed the info she posted and
decided to try. At the time she
only offered to sign a group photo of Mark Hall-Patton (Clark County Museum), Craig Gottlieb (gun specialist and who I saw walking about SDCC 2013), and herself. She mentioned she could get the other 2 to
sign the photo also. That was intriguing
but I also wanted a photo of just her too.
I tried Google but the images I found were not high enough quality to
make a decent 8 x 10.
In my letter I asked if he had a head shot of herself. She has since updated her blog and now offers
a head shot. I took her up on her offer to
get Mark and Craig to sign. While she modestly
suggested a donation of $10, I sent her $10 for each signature. I felt this was very reasonable. I know people that do TTM normally don’t want
to pay. For me that was an exceptional value. Since the money went to the Clark County
Museum I was more than happy to do it.
With my request, I sent a top loader. I’m glad I sent one that was 8 ½ x 11. I’m also glad I sent
a slightly larger envelope and some card board to stiffen the shipment. My local postman unsuccessfully tried to fold
the returned photos. Also her head shot photo was 8 ½ x 11 instead of 8x10.
The transaction took about 3 months. Not unusually for TTM which is why I don’t like
doing it. I’m sure part of the wait was coordinating with Mark and Craig. This was a smooth simple transaction. I even got a letter from the museum regarding
my donation.
