Bones Fan Expo Dallas 2025

Yes, let me say this up front, I only watched 1 episode of Bones. It was the cross over episode with Sleepy Hollow. I liked Sleepy Hollow a lot. What I saw did not encourage me to watch more…but that is my issue and not yours.  Millions of people watched Bones each week and loved it.

Fan Expo had BOTH Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz. They both had long lines. The fans showed up. For David, I dare say, the Bones fans far out numbers the Buffy/Angle fans.

Emily was sweet. She smiled and chatted a little with people. I don’t think she had done a lot of conventions but she seemed comfortable with the crowds and process.

I’m pretty sure David had been through the Creation Convention mill, so he is used to big crowds. He gave everyone a quick second or too.

I’m more of an Angel fan. I really had a hard time deciding on a photo. I did something I rarely do. I got 2 photos signed. The first photo was more of a typical photo from me. The background that wasn’t too busy with a nice area to sign. I like the Wolfram and Hart sign in the background. David knew exactly where to sign.

The second photo is from a silly cutesy episode. It’s a fun episode. An episode to lighten the mood of several dark episodes. I was not seeking this image out. It found me and I debated it on spending the extra money to get this signed. However, we all know I have an addiction and it was added to list.

I handed the Muppet image over and David stared and snorted a short laugh. I apologized and said it talked to me.  He laughed again and signed. He mentioned he hadn’t seen that in a LOOOONG time. I left feeling pretty good.  Then I saw a lady standing deeper in the line with the actually Muppet Angel in a box to get signed.

Oh well, not as unique as I hoped, but I got my autographs.

#SDCC Bones and The Glee Project

Sometimes to get an autograph you need to be lucky.  Sometimes a bit of tenaciousness is needed. Sometimes, you need be observant and slightly devious. Yes, not one of my prouder moments.
I spent time in line for the Fox signings.  They were doing several shows all at once.  The tickets for Bones went fast. I never watched the show but I like the lead actor, David Boreanaz.  After those tickets were gone the crew handling the raffle kind of lost interest. They handed out a lot of tickets to the other shows.  I was handed a winning ticket for Bob’s Burgers and for The Glee Project just because I was in line.
I was interested in the Glee Project until I realized it wasn’t the same thing as Glee.  Glee would have been one the wife would have loved and I would have let her stand in line to meet the stars.  Bob’s Burgers is a show that isn’t on my radar at all.  All I know is it’s animated.
I dutifully put the raffle tickets in the plastic holder for my badge and went about my day.  When I stood in line for the Glee Project, I was chit chatting with people around me. One girl noticed my other raffle ticket and mentioned she would see me at the Bones signing too.  She saw the question mark hanging over my head and pointed to my badge and the ticket.  She then showed me her ticket.  They were remarkably similar.
